Hanna Andersson, Senior Research Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry
I started working at RDG in February 2021. Here, I get the opportunity to work and develop professionally in a strong scientific environment, tackling medicinal challenges by actively contributing to new discoveries and important innovations.
I enjoy working here because of the collaborative & creative atmosphere and the great diversity of employees.
I am specialized in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry and NMR spectroscopy. My role at RGD is to contribute to the design and synthesis of molecules in order to advance compound series through the various stages of the drug discovery process.
After receiving my Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry at Uppsala University (UU), I joined Orexo AB in Uppsala to work on a drug discovery project in lead optimization phase. As a researcher & postdoctoral researcher at the University of Gothenburg I was able to broaden my knowledge and skills in organic chemistry and NMR spectroscopy. In 2017, I returned to UU to work as a member of a research group specializing in antibiotic resistance, as well as to establish an independent research project on fluorescent probes for peptide labelling.
After work, I enjoy doing outdoor activities with my family and friends, and creative activities such as home and garden renovation.
